    Product Details

Echeveria 'Benitsukasa' (or E. nodulosa 'Maruba Benitsukasa') is a striking, slow-growing succulent known for its fleshy, grey-green leaves adorned with deep red-purple stripes, margins, and sometimes bumpy caruncles. This low-maintenance, drought-tolerant plant thrives in bright, direct sunlight, requiring well-draining soil and infrequent watering to prevent root rot. It is non-toxic to pets.
    Key Care Instructions:
    • Light: Full sun to partial shade; needs bright light to maintain vibrant color and compact shape.
    • Water: "Soak and dry" method; allow soil to dry completely between waterings.
    • Soil: Highly porous, gritty mix (e.g., cactus/succulent mix with added perlite or pumice).
    • Temperature: Thrives in 30°F–50°F (-1.1°C–10°C) minimum; must be protected from freezing.
    • Propagation: Easy to propagate from leaves or stem cuttings.
    Common Problems & Maintenance:
    • Rot: Caused by overwatering, particularly when water sits on leaves.
    • Etiolation (Stretching): Occurs due to insufficient light.
    • Dormancy: Growth slows in summer heat and winter; reduce water during these periods.
    • Pests: Generally resistant, but check for common succulent pests like mealybugs.
Echeveria 'Benitsukasa' typically blooms in spring to summer with tall stalks of coral-pink flowers.

    Plant Care Tips

    Light
Place succulents where they get at least 6 hours of bright, indirect sunlight each day. A sunny windowsill is ideal.

    Watering
Let the soil dry out completely between waterings. Water deeply, then drain any excess. Overwatering is the most common cause of problems.

    Soil
Use a well-draining cactus or succulent soil mix. Good drainage keeps roots healthy.

    Containers
Choose pots with drainage holes. Avoid decorative pots without drainage unless you use them as covers.

    Temperature
Succulents prefer warm conditions. Keep them away from freezing temperatures and protect from drafts.

    Fertilizing
Feed lightly with a balanced, diluted fertilizer during the growing season (spring and summer). No need to fertilize in winter.

    Pruning & Propagation
Remove any dead leaves from the base to prevent pests. Many succulents can be propagated from leaf or stem cuttings.
